Swiss based O.Kleiner AG is specialised in flexible packaging for food- und non-food-products serving national and international markets. Since several years the company is activly working on projects for packaging and environment e.g. by developing new solutions (aluminium free thin barrier films) and production processes by installing solar panel electricity generation, biofilter, a closed circuit heating-cooling system to name some. At interpack the company focusses on the environmental programme, too. One of the key issues is to avoid CO2 emissions in production. Some weeks ago O. Kleiner presented a project in cooperation with the swiss customer bio-familia AG: Unavoidable CO2 emissions from packaging production are offset within myclimate protection projects. Myclimate was founded in 2002 as a spin-off from the ETH (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology). The partners have worked out on a CO2 calculator (cradle to grave) which will be subject at the fair. O.Kleiner hat also created a new packaging for cereals for bio-familia which is introduced to the market since april and will be presented in Düsseldorf.
